What we found and did
Merrik found that the capacitor on the unit was bad and the system was low on gas. He replaced the bad capacitor with a new dual run capacitor and added R-410A refrigerant to the system.

Reinstalled Heat Pump Would Not Turn Back On in Galveston
What the customer reported
A Galveston homeowner reported that the unit would not come back on after it was reinstalled by another company, and that company could not figure out how to get it running.
What we found and did
Brandon and Gabriel found the unit off on a low pressure code, with leaks on both flare connections, multiple kinks in the newly added lineset, control wiring wired improperly (disabling the heat pump functionality), loose high voltage connections, improper flexible conduit connections, no ground wiring in the disconnect feeding the outdoor unit, and signs that the unit had been disassembled and improperly reassembled, allowing water to get to the electrical components. They repaired the refrigerant leaks, pressure tested the system, and vacuumed it down to 416 microns isolated. They then measured the lineset length and weighed in refrigerant based on lineset length plus factory charge. Finally, they rewired the communication wiring inside and outside and set the dipswitch settings back to the original configuration from the initial install.
Result
The unit fired up and runs as expected.

Leaking, Noisy AC Stopped Working in Galveston
What the customer reported
A Galveston homeowner in the 77554 area reported the unit leaking, the unit not working, and the unit making noise.
What we found and did
Across three visits, Brandon and Merrik found drain lines improperly configured, causing standing water in the air handler's internal drain pan and frequent backups leading to water damage, along with a melted common wire on the contactor outside and a bad fan motor. They chemically flushed the existing drain lines, vacuumed and flushed the internal drain pan, removed the improperly installed p traps, and installed a new smooth p trap with a ball valve and a float switch on the secondary drain to shut the system down if a backup occurs. They also replaced the heavily corroded contactor, repaired the common wire to restore operation, and replaced the fan motor.
Result
The capacitor and refrigerant charge both checked out within spec, and the system performs as expected.
