What the customer reported
A Galveston homeowner in the 77550 area repeatedly reported that the AC was not cooling, the upstairs was not cooling, and the house was not cooling below 75 at night. Other visits noted the motor not running, the unit making noise, and the outdoor unit not coming on.
What we found and did
Over 16 summer visits, Adrian, Gamaliel, Brandon, Matthew, Gabriel, Aaron, and Christian found an outdoor unit with 700psi head pressure that tripped the breaker, backed-up drain lines with a tripped float switch, a bad blower motor, a restricted metering device and filter drier, a blown fuse, and a leak on the filter dryer inside the condenser. The team installed a new 5 ton R410A Luxaire condenser, pulled and chem washed the evaporator coil, pulled the system down to 500 microns, and added 6 pounds of R410A. On later visits they replaced the blower motor, flushed drain lines, replaced the drain pan and added a float switch, hung and re-attached ductwork, replaced the metering device and filter drier, built a new return plenum, added a new blower capacitor, replaced a blown fuse, and repaired the filter dryer leak before vacuuming and recharging the system.
