He flushed the drain line, emptied the float switch, opened the evaporator coil door to verify there was no debris to cause a future backup, and verified the metering device, refrigerant charge, clean evaporator coil, and blower motor speed taps. He also taped insulation back onto the air handler doors and sealed several severe air leaks around the cabinet doors and penetrations. Finally, he replaced the installed 55/7.5 mfd dual run capacitor with the proper 45/5 mfd capacitor according to the motor labels on the fan and compressor.

Matthew found the system was leaking a lot of air and needed to be sealed, the ducts were all touching and needed to be hung, there were no float switches to protect from overflow of water and prevent flooding, and the drain line was completely stopped up. He sealed the system and rehung all the duct work so it is no longer touching. He added a primary float switch and a secondary float switch on the drain pan, replaced the drain line, and installed a Honeywell Focus Pro S200 WiFi thermostat.
