Brandon and Christian found that the outdoor fan motor was bad. Because the OEM motor was $690 for parts only and 2 weeks out, they replaced it with a universal PSC condenser fan motor. They also replaced the run capacitor (a dual run capacitor serving the fan and compressor) and installed a 2-pole contactor to replace the fan drive board.

Aaron and Gabriel found the system was shutting down because the low pressure switch had activated. They adjusted the blower speed on the system to 8 Volts DC, added 5 pounds of R-410A refrigerant, and performed an electronic leak search but could not get a consistent hit.
With outdoor conditions at 76° and overcast, the system measured 18° superheat and 8° subcooling, with an indoor temperature of 74.
I highly recommend this AC technician and company! He was able to come out the same day, quickly diagnosed the problem, and fixed several issues that been missed by a previous technician. He was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to make sure everything was working properly before he left. It was such a relief to finally have someone who knew what they were doing and got the job done right. Excellent service from start to finish. We have been happy with this company since day one when they installed our system.
